This Is Crazy

Hello, My Dark & Different Readers

Happy Dark & Different April. I seem to have missed a convention that was based on all things Dark Romance. There was  author signing, dances, lectures, you know, all the stuff that goes on at a convention. The convention was held in Boston and Philadelphia. It was about 7 months ago.  Anyway, I heard about the convention on YouTube, and here's why

Is it me, but when you read a dark romance book, it's for entertainment reading. These characters in the books are not real, and for people to think this convention was supposed to be a sex convention where you lived out your romance fantasies with a total stranger without their consent was even crazier. Do we not know the difference between real and fantasy anymore?  What do you think?

My Random Dark Romance Thoughts

Hello, My Dark & Different Romance Readers

Question for you today. Why do you read Dark Romance books? I know why I read them and the differences that I see.  Here are some of my thoughts on why I read these types of books and what I noticed when I read them. If you have any books that you would like me to read and talk about, share them right here with me at Dark & Different. I would love to know what you're reading and probably want to read it too.

What The???

Hello, My Dark & Different Readers

What the heck did I try to read? First off, I'm talking about the book Sinister Legacy by Harleight Beck. She was one of the authors who wrote Chokehold, which was good(Review to follow later). Anyway, I got another one of her books since Chokehold was so good. This book Sinsiter Legacy, is about a woman, or really 16-17-year-old girl, whose father is a serial killer and is sentenced to be executed in two months. This girl is still in high school, dates the high school quarterback, who she finds boring. Has a best friend and a reputation for being a serial killer's daughter.  But the crazy part is, before you even get to chapter five, her best friend is sleeping with her boring boyfriend. The girl herself is sleeping with her stepfather and liking it. The main male character in the book makes no sense.   There is no solid story, no real character development, no nothing. (These are just my personal opinions of the book)  I couldn't even get pass chapter five, it was horrible. I read a lot of dark romance book and this one was really not worth my time.  I can't understand why the Amazon reviews were so high. Were they not reading the same book I was? The story didn't flow or even make sense. If you have read this book, what did you think about it?   Hopefully, next time I'll have a better book to tell you about. Almost forget this book was supposed to be a dark horror romance book.

You Decide

Hello, My Dark & Different Readers.

Happy Dark Sunday. Todays book review is on the book Twisted by Emily McIntire. This one  is sitting on the fence. As far as it being a dark romance book per say. What do you think? Here are my thoughts on the book.                                                                      https://creators.spotify.com/pod/profile/r-hill1/

Don't get me wrong, I love some of the author's other books, like  Hooked and Scarred.  They were very good stories. Between you and me I cried at the end of Scarred, I'll be reviewing both of these books for you at a later date. For now  it's about Twisted . If you reading any Dark & Different Romance books lately. Share them with me . I might want to read them too. It's only fair.

Not Interested?

Hello, my Dark & Different Readers. Happy March! So, what are you reading this month? Is it dark or different? I want to know. Anyway, I was in one of my Facebook book groups, and the question was asked what kinda books you won't read. I was surprised that a lot of people said Dark Romance. One woman even went on to say she would not read any dark romance books because they romanticize being a victim of someone's sick pleasures. The women also stated that a lot of the women in these dark romance books are too timid and weak for her taste. Which this women is not totally wrong if you look at it from her point of view. But I still like to read dark and different romance books, even though I've only been reading these books for less than a year now. I still like to read them anyway for myself and to talk about them with you.
